i think it was a great bike, i had lads pull up alongside in relatively new DT's and sit there revvin the nuts off their bike, and sayin "thats **** that is, bet it doesnt even go fast" RED.....RED AMBER.....GONE. the looks i would get doin 65 mph down country lanes with drum brakes front and back it was like i was climbing down the eifell tower wearin a tutu haha

I had one briefly in the late 80's as well the 50cc version which I used to wheelie really well on .
Great bikes and a good laugh to ride.

I had one a couple of years ago on L-playes when I was 17. Still in my garage acutally rusting away.

Love it. My Dad bought it off me earlier this year and insured it for £1.04. He bought it 'cos he knows I'll want another one when I'm going through my mid-life crisis.

He has a DT175MX which he bought around the same time.

Both brilliant fun. Would like to get the 125 back on the road.

I've still got one in bits in my garage. It's one of the earlier DT175MX's with the tubular swinging arm. You can get a wider rear tyre in than you can on the later box sectioned swinging arm models. Its got a Gianelli exhaust and Fresco? tail pipe, it sounded like a motorcrosser.

I plan to rebuild it with a more modern disc braked front end at some point, but then again as it has been stripped down for 20 years, I am not holding my breath as I seem to have a lot of ideas which come to nothing!
