Default Rideout Idea Sept 17th -19th

I've just signed up to race at East Fortune again on the 18th and 19th of September.

Speaking to Toby last time we were there it would be a great venue for a ride out. Arrive on the Friday and those attending can volunteer as Marshals for the weekend so you get to see two days of racing from VERY close quarters. Or just bum about watching the racing.

Marshals are fed and watered all weekend and get paid a tenner a day to cover costs (or did at the last meeting) along with a goodie bag of chockies, pop and chrisps.

Things finish about 4-5 on the Sunday night and then we head off home.

Anyone interested? No need for anything more than a tent and sleeping bag as I'll have cooking gear there.

I get a couple of passes with my entry and I'd be happy to hand those out. I'm sure other members won't be using their full pass allocation either.

I don't want to take liberties with the Melville club as they are such a great bunch of peeps but if you come in on Friday and help out then there's no need to pay for admission unless you want to. You won't be passing through the gate all weekend once you're in. (and of course, I'd advise that you do pay as its such a good cause) It's £15 for the weekend as a paying visitor (I believe or £10 a day. Thats cheaper than a camp site and you get free racing )

If you marshal you'll get that back and be involved in the racing, not just watching it.

And the Craik is great. This next meeting is double prize money and it'll be a good turn out and very competitive!! (read lots of bikes to pick out of the beans!)

It'd be a cracking weekend... and there'll be beer!
Also, You'd be camping in the pits, You have full access to the bikes and riders and can wander pretty much anywhere round the track. It definitely not like WSB and the like. You have access to neverything. And you'll probably head home with a few sets of very cheap scrubs that you could sell on to pay for the petrol to get there too.

Sounds good to me. Is the ride out just there and back or do we pop out for a few miles over the weekend.

No idea. I'll not be. I doubt the Lothian and Border finest would appreciate a stubbied minitwin "pootling" around the borders

I can assure you that there'll be more than enough going on inside the fence to keep you occupied.

for those heading from the south I can recommend some cracking roads to get you there (and different ones for the way back).
