Default Mixing tyre brands - Bridgestone and Maxxis?

Just been looking for a new front tyre and came across the good reviews for the Maxxis sport touring tyres. Ive currently got a BT014 on the front and a BT021 on the rear and was just wondering if anyone has any experience of mixing the Maxxis tyre with Bridgestones on the SV or any bike in fact?

Thanks in advance

yep, when I bought my sv last year it had a fairly worn bt 21 on the rear and brand new maxis on the front, never had any problems, but had a maxxis fitted when the rear wore out, wouldnt recomend mixing brands, but you pays so you decide.

What sort of mileage were you getting out of a Maxxis front?

mines done over 9k miles since last april, with barely any noticeable wear, used for commuting and fast road when the chance allows.

Even the rear doing very well too, think theyre dual compound

Maxxis are single compound. Reassuring to see you've got that sort of mileage out of your front seeing as I've just had a pair put on the bike.
