Just received a Nitron track shock. Pleased with the build quality but the instructions are crap and I am confused regarding the following points.
1. I have the feeling that the reservoir is mounted on the wrong side i.e. should be facing right towards the toolbox/battery and not facing left, away from them? 2. The reservoir seems to stick out more than I expected and I have my doubts whether it will actually fit. This is a custom made shock specifically for the sv650 k7 so I'm wondering whether its just me being paranoid or whether Nitron have made a mistake? I will obviously ring Nitron to express my concern but I would appreciate some feedback from the fountain of all wisdom and particularly any member who has a Nitron track shock on their SV. Is your piggy-bank pointing in the opposite direction to mine? Can the piggy bank be moved slightly up or down by loosening the 22mm nut on the opposite side of the compression damping knob or should this nut be left well alone? I will post some pics soon. Thanks Chris. I'll leave that nut well alone! What do you reckon about the direction of the reservoir? Do you think I have a valid point or is it designed to face towards the engine making the adjustment of the compression very awkward. Pic now attached to first post.

The shock looks fine, the reservior should sit behind the shock between the shock and tyre. If you are looking at the bottom mounting fork this spins around. The top mounting is fixed.

yeah i would check with Nitron as that looks a bit strange - certainly different to mine. The reservoir is quite tight against the tool holder and adjustments are made from the left side - looks like you would have to make adjustments from the right side - wouldn't the rear exhaust pipe be in the way

That's precisely what I'm worried about. Why would Nitron have the reservoir pointing towards the engine/exhaust instead of away from it? Is this a design quirk that only SV Nitron Shocks have? The other shocks I've seen have the piggy bank facing the toolbox/battery. I got home late from work today and so have been unable to contact Nitron. Will try tomorrow. In the meantime can anybody (particularly those with Nitron Piggy-bank shocks) confirm whether their shock faces towards the engine/exhaust (like mine) or away towards the battery. Loser, you say that yours is up tight against the tool-box. Can you just confirm that yours is a Nitron piggy-bank shock. Beginning to wish I'd ordered the remote reservoir. Would'nt the heat from the engine and exhaust have a detrimental effect on the reservoir? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated so that I can be better informed before contacting Nitron. |

The exhaust wouldnt be in the way. The exhaust sits slightly further forward of the resivior body down near the spring.

Reassuring to know that the exhaust doesn't get in the way. However, wouldn't the heat from the engine/exhaust have a detrimental effect on the reservoir? Any tips on how I would be able to get at the compression damping knob?

Is it a knob, or is it that flat screw in middle?
P.S it is a piggyback reservoir, not a piggybank.

Its a knob and I reckon that by taking the side panel out I should be able to get to it. Christ its going to be a tight fit! My main concern is that its going to be mm away from the exhaust on one end and the frame on the other.
