I have noticed a lot of people on here tend to use the SV as a stepping stone in their biking lifes.
I have had 7 bikes, the last being an RSV R Factory, but after selling up I have still come back to the SV. Now I have the comfort kit and new seat, I love the bike and can ride it for miles. Does anyone else love the SV enough to keep it long term? |

I keep looking around at what to swap the thou for, but nothing really does it for me. If it was an 'S' for that little bit more wind perfection it would be my perfect bike, but I can forgive it that one little thing and don't think I could be tempted to change it for anything

I think i may have another in the future as a 2nd bike, maybe track bike, but would need suspension sorting as i hated it tbh, didnt inspire confidence for me but some of that may have been stock tyres.
Loved the engine and the noise and was powerful enough for the road imo. |

I went from a curvy to an IL4 and whilst I love the power of the IL4 I do miss the v-twin roar so will next year be considering an SV1000 as the best of both worlds.

I'm getting a better road bike next year, but already 100% decided that I'm keeping the SV anyways. I'll keep it till it dies a non-fiery death.

if you sort the suspension out and get some tidy tyres you get about the perfect mix of most things. The SV can get you anywhere in a good time, commute, handle twisties.

I came back to the SV after a GSXR, I think it's a fast enough bike for the roads, comfy and V-twin's have a certain "something" that IL4's will never have.
The SV is a popular bike, but they can be made individual quite easily. I don't intend selling mine, I will make my decision once I've fitted the Ohlins shock I just bought and the K-tech springs I've had since the beginning of Summer. If I don't like it after, I may consider another bike....but it will be a V-twin. |
