so i was riding to pothmadog with some mates when a guy on a street triple decided he'd overtake, 2 corners later he run wide (luckily onto a grass run off area. somehow he managed to knock 1/2 a breeze block onto the road with loads of grass, as i was heavily breaking to stop and see if he was okay i hit the bloody breeze block! its only a slight bent on the left hand side of the rim, but you can see the tyre moving out of line slightly when you spin the wheel.
not sure weather to let the pressure out the tyre an get the hammer an block of wood out, or get it professionally done. i do use the edges of the tyre when riding ![]() what do you think? Sam |

to be honest the bead on modern wheels is so important, I'd get it professionally done myself, it's really not worth taking the risk of it letting you down under load.
Cheers Mark

We hammer out car alloys with rubber mallets or a normal hammer and a block of wood, but be careful a few have cracked. As Mark says above, it wont be perfect again, it wont balance very well and could still cause your tyre to leak air around the rim. I wouldn't risk it on a bike, only a car and even then depends how badly damaged it is.
