GSXR front end swap - dimensions? - SV650.org

Right i am going to put gsxr front end on my pointy 08 sv. so heres the question is there a slightly shorter pair of gsxr forks than the standard sv forks. As next year my wife is going to have my bike and it will have to be lowered so the forks a little shorter would help.

Believe you could drop them (any forks) through the yokes a bit but would think you'd need to drop the back end as well.

as a rule of thumbish gsxr forks from 2000 are all about 15mm shorter. what ever forks you decide to get have a look at the manual for that size/year to give you an indication on how they should be fitted. by which i mean some stick threw the top yoke 5mm while others are flush. for instance gsxr600-750 2004 are 15mm shorter from spindle to top of tube minus the cap, they also stick above yoke another 5mm giving you a total of 20mm shorter then standard sv k3>. to give you a rough idea on how low you can go on a tricked out sv i'm 5' and i was almost flat footed.
