Default pointy rear plastics on a curvy, possible?

Ive currently got my curvy sv in bits for maintenance and some upgrading, namely gsxr shock, and have got the template to make a new undertray, and plan to make a tail tidy at work.

How possible is it to fit pointy rear plastics and seats on a pointy, obviously the subframes are different. Forget the undertray/snow plough as thats not a big issue at the moment.

Are the plastics mounting point very far out?, could the 2 subframes be cut and shut into 1 easily?

Anyone got both subframes to compare? Ive looked at some pictures, but different angles of the photos taken dont really give enough help.

I searched some recent topics, but the pics didnt come up in the most relevant post on that thread, really need both sets of rear end side by side to compare, but bit expensive to buy it all in the vain hope it works.

Thanks, Lee

could be done with the right fabrication but you'll end up losing the flowing lines of the curvy and have a curved pipework frame with a sharp angular rear end-the two bikes don't blend well imoa

yeah did think that, it really needs photoshopping to get an idea how it could actualy look, but I dont have photshop to do it.

ive just got loads of ideas to try out while its in bits, too much time on my hands possibly, lol.

Check out ocr_sv's thread in photo section (vfr750sssa on an sv).
He has done just that so should give you an idea.
You should find it on page 2 of photo section.
HTH

Edit; you need to look at page 4 on his thread for picture with pointy rear sub and plastics.

If you can find me a pic of a curvy and a pic of a pointy that are taken from roughly the same angles i can have a go at photoshopping them for you mate!

Very quick edit on photoshop gives this....

obviously only from the side, i think to get the real idea youd need to find two photos taken from the rear though!

speaky69, thankyou for taking the time to do that, personally I think it looks alright because the rider seat gives a break between the curvy front and the pointy rear.

I got a pm from ocr_sv, and he mentioned that the curvy body is wider than the pointy, he used a modified curvy subframe, although previously modded by someone else so wasnt sure of the exact work needed.

I really like the look of the pointy rear, so need to find out more info on what needs to be done

Any input welcome, or a modded rear end to put on my curvy even more welcome

Lee
