Aw, you guys!

Shucks, my own little thread.

"Roads Police are there to" pick on innocent motorists and raise revenue for the Government through over zelous application of petty rules instead of catching real criminals like burglars and rapists whilst swanning around in comfy fast cars breaking all the rules we will so happily and patronisingly prosecute you for. Oh and eating do-nuts.

M-kay?

I know what they're not there for...
They're not there to knock on peoples doors to tell them thier loved one isnt coming home.

Yet they have to do it, a bit of respect for one of the most unpleasent acts one human must carry out ( and yup believe it or not they are human). Accidents happen FACT, dont increase your chances of been a statistic by been completing your journey in the manor of a *****.

...to dress up in pretty uniforms and scare little children.

Or deter muppets from being super silly, and potentially crashing into my frail body.

Have you noticed they never seem to pick on innocent road users

Pete,
Question for you, are the police allowed to speed without having their blue lights on? I'm always seeing them do it and it always makes me wonder...
Saw a police speed camera van in halifax set off one of those speed activated sings for doing more than 30 in a 30 limit. Which annoyed me a little. Half a mile down the road he pulled over and set up his camera! Cheeky.

Yes, but only for a policing purpose. Eg, on route to a job. The lights and sirens are there to warn others of our presence.

Just out of interest....

Say a police car was sat on one of those 'Police Vehicle Only' bits at the side of the motorway at 4:30am... are they likely to be sat having a general chat watching for dodgy cars, or sat watching for speeding.

Would they generally then come off the ramp and pull you over to give you a telling off? or can they act like a camera van too?

EDIT: Looking for an informed answer from the org plumber, not just any joe bloggs by the way lol
