Default Teaching your Grannie to suck eggs

This time of year, just before the proper onset of winter you find greasy roads due to leaves, wet patches on corners and the odd frosty section before the sunlight has got to it.We all ride roads that we know and it is so easy to get caught out,so be prudent, less lean, less throttle, gentler braking, slow down a little and lets help to keep the accident statistics down this year.
I know that many of you are experienced riders riding all year round and will be perfectly aware of this so it is more for the benefit of our newer members or less experienced amongst us.

You may wish to disregard the preaching but be careful.

Yep agreed, cornering round one of my favourite roundabouts yesterday, mid afternoon, the side out of the sun was still very damp and only a thin dry line to take

Also having rode the bike all summer you may have squared off your rear tyre as I have which doesn't help with these highlighted road conditions !

Also diesel patches seems to remain longer on the roads, no sun to burn them off !

Oh, that post took me back 20-odd years when I got exactly the same speech from my Dad.

Off I went thinking "yeah, yeah, what do you know you old fart". Ten minutes later I was sliding down the road face first.

Nice post DT! We all know it but it's well worthy of a reminder.

There's nothing wrong with a gentle reminder. Even more experienced riders can get caught out sometimes, especially at this time of year when the road surfaces are colder and slipperier than what we've been used to.
