Thinking of selling the projector... - SV650.org

Good Evening.

Just want to run something by you lot to see if I'm being sensible...

I've owned my Optoma DW318 for a good while now, its great and all, but im starting to miss having a normal TV.

I have put off playing halo reach, I've owned it from the day after release, due to the lack of blacks annoying me quite a bit... And I really want to buy the new COD but i fear the same will happen.

I miss the just switch on the TV and watch for a bit, turn off after, none of this warming bulb, cooling bulb, adjusting it every time some one bumps into its shelf. Also I've just got a new blu ray and it doesn't pick it up. It has a habit of doing this, when I watch a DVD via my blu ray player it doesn't pick it up, when I watch a Blu ray it only picks up from the movie, no adverts or title screens most of the time...

I've noticed today that Argos have the Hitachi 42" 1080p LCD back on sale at £399, and I'm very tempted by it. I had one of these TV's before the projector and have absolutely no complaints about it.

Do you reckon I would miss the projector? It would be going to provide funds for the TV.

I often put off watching TV because of the hassle, and I'm thinking a TV would be a better choice for me realistically, do you think I'm being reasonable?

Have you considered turning to drugs?
Might be better than either of those options.

I havnt actually, might enhance the movie experience, but id have sold my projector for the drugs so I'd not have anything to watch

Get the right drugs and you just wont care.

But think of the money you're saving on gas bills by having your projector heat your house for you!

Just had a 3d Optoma installed at work. Fantastic picture but clarity would be down to the screen. The passive 3d glasses are great also. Much better than 3d at the cinema.
