Default rubbing / Winding noise from front end

Dear ALL

I have a curvy and it is my trusted commuter, over the last 2 days it has developed a stranf noise from the front end whilst in motion it appears to make a rubbing / windding sound.

I do not think it is engine related as i have killed it while moving and the noise is still there. My thought are possibly wheel bearing althought there is no vibration from the front end and if i remove my hands from the bars the bike rolls straight as an arrow.

Does any one have any thoughts?

Kind regards

Peter

Sounds like the front brake pads are binding. Caliper maybe needs a good clean, sooner rather than later!

Brakes binding perhaps?

Can you lift the front end up, on a paddock stand or similar, and spin the wheel? This might give you a better idea of what's causing the noise.

Also check speedo drive cable isnt binding. Disconnect at the bottom, tape up and have a try. C

Amount of crap on the roads at the moment, I'd hazard a guess its the brakes as everyone else has said. Need more TLC at this time of year.

+1 Mine siezed with the amount of crap on the road's last year and were starting before i parked up for the winter.

It maybe worth checking the drive aswel if you've got stands handy as they do collect crap at times

+1 on the carp in your brakes, just give them a good clean out, most likely a bit of grit has got in there and scratching a perfect circle into your disc, so get it looked at sooner rather than later.

Peter, diffcult without hearing the noise, but I had noise on the front of my curvy a year ago, turned out to be the speedo sensor widget inside the front wheel, had virtually decintergrated. Have a look in there if the brakes look OK or you clean them and still have the noise.
Was easy to change and noise went straight away when I did mine.
Best of luck
