Was at football today, sh!te game as the pitch was frozen rock solid and the ref deemed this playable..
Ended up loosing, and my knees and elbows are torn and bruised to fu(k! ![]() Top it off, the other teams manager reversed into my bike ![]() He hit the front cowl betweeen the lights and it toppled over onto its RHS! Damage is as follows; Broken indy Bent Brake Lever Cans scraped Pegs scraped Front cowl scraped Cowl is out of alignment with the lights, so probably a bent front subframe RHS lower is all scratched Top box is scratched Bar end scratched and fell off Mirror is scraped Think that all ![]() Little bit gutted, bought her new in August, love the colour, rare as hens teeth, and now its all messed up ![]() He gave me his card and said just fix it and pass the bill onto him, he'll cover everything. He was a bit gutted, and was very apologetic. Genuine guy, was very sorry. Think I should go through insurance, or just pass the bill onto him? ![]() |

That sucks. I'd get a quote for all the bits, then get him to pay. If he doesn't pay up phone the insurance cos all that stuff wont be cheap.

no way would i payout to fix it with nothing more than this guys word too many times i've heard of this where you pay for everything fixing then the other party denies all involvment so you never see a penny back. get a quote for the work, send him that and either make arrangements for him to pay direct to the garage or that he pays you the quote amount and you proceed with the work. If he is genuine and sound then he'll understand you're just trying to cover your back. |

insurance, he probably has no idea the extent of the damage or the costs involved then you hand him the bill and he chickens out. I know it's nice to give them the benefit of the doubt but no point giving it the chance to backfire. Hope you sort it soon pal.

Oh and the brake levers bent..
He is a genuine guy, I have his business card etc and reg, my manager knows him etc Would be different if its a complete random guy, but it isn't. Going to get Shirlaws (local suzuki dealer) to quote me for putting it back to as new condition, if he wants to pay that fine, if not go through insurance. |
