Nah he asked to use the loo.

so, it was the acceptance of my heating onto a maintenance contract.

When the boiler switches on, the gas fire looses 6bar pressure. He says this is not safety but could be poor pipe routing/sizing. So the gas fire is not as efficient as it should be if the central heating is on.

boiler has a few "Crusty" joints. He reckons they have been weeping. He will not touch them on his inspection as he doesn't want tighten them in case he crack one. He tells me that they may want me to have the boiler serviced before accepting it.

Finally the gas pipe is not bonded at the meter. I find that strange as British Gas moved the meter to its current position a couple of years ago. If bonding was a requirement then I would have thought they would have done it as they installed it. But that doesn't matter as I will bond it myself tonight.

We have a British Gas maintenance contract for gas and electric, Come around annually. a few months ago came around and condemned the boiler due to a water leak above the boiler dripping and corroding the boiler case over several years. Had a pop at them saying they should have fixed it at each annual service. Ended up with a free new boiler fitted. Result!
