Hi,
My Dad lives in France and after coming over for a visit and having ago on my SV he has decided to take up biking again. He is currently looking at bikes in France although the prices are ridiculas, one bike he is looking at is a; Honda CB750 1995 with 8000 miles on the clock, going for £2.1k. This is an import from the UK and has been fully kitted out as well as registered in France. Now ... I've said to him for that money, you could get an SV1000 or a newish sv650. Minus petrol/ferries etc ... The question is, would he have to change the headlamps on the SV to make legal in France and another question, is that good for a honda and my Dad? Many thanks, James PS; How good is it being back on the road! |

I hear it is a lot of hassle. 100bhp limit and lots of paperwork. Never done it myself but was looking at the same thing a few years ago.

I have UK pointy in spain. Dip is set by position of bulb not glass so by removing tabs on bulbs u can rotate them to give dip other side. Here bikes only have dip on one side but if necessary its easy to disconnect one.
They have a protectionist tax in spain so to register a bike is complicated and expensive: tax is a government set value reduced by an age factor which for a 4 yr old = 300euro on top of the cost of registration, MOT and road tax. Then my insurance will be upto 10x more expensive but thats the price of great, empty roads and loads of sunshine! |
