My cider brew has gone berserk

I started this off 2 days ago, normal recipe - 4 litres of juice, 250g sugar, rounded teaspoon of yeast. The only thing I did different was to turn the central heating down a bit as this house gets too hot, so I insulated the demijohn with a tea towel. Home this evening to this:



It's gone berserk... all the froth is much more than I usually get, and it has NEVER come out through the airlock. But that appley smell...mmmmmmmmm...

Three options:

1) Yeast got off to a quicker than usual start. A lot of homebrew recipes start fermentation in a bucket/barrel and only transfer to a demijohn when carbon dioxide production has slowed down to avoid this.

2) The juice has a slightly different composition and is foaming more than usual. So, instead of a steady stream of bubbles, froth is pushing it's way through the airlock

3) Someone has attempted to sabotage your cider by adding washing up liquid, because they know what it will do to them when it's ready for drinking.

Sorry, can't help with the froth but if you need a hand with the QA I'm willing to taste it...
