Default Fuel tap - removing tank?

Dead simple question - but one that I don't know the answer to...

Need to take the fuel tank off to get better access - how do I turn the fuel tap off to stop petrol pi55ing all over my living room floor?!

Cheers

Fuel Tap is vacum operated, i.e. it only lets fuel through when the engine is running, So you'll be fine to disconnect the pipework without the fuel coming out. Assuming that the Fuel tap isnt faulty that is.
