Default Xt125R Stolen From Bradford Gutted

XT125R Stolen from Bradford Gutted! Let my brother borrow it as his headstock had gone on is bike, he parked it outside a friends house and stood in the kitchen watching the bike and next time he looked it had gone. Just happened 20 minutes ago. :bye:

Cant claim on insurance as he was only covered TP to ride the bike or thats how i understand it. What process do i have to follow if i am not claiming on the insurance ect.....

How do i avoid any storage charges ect..

Unlucky mate, thats ****. I'm not an insurance expert but would you not still be covered for theft by your insurance even though your brother had borrowed it?

The bike is no more

Basically he parked bike in drive was watching it through the kitchen window while dropping something off at a friends house.

He could not see out because the kitchen lights were on, he turned them off so he could see outside and it had gone. It all happened in just a few minutes. He ran outside looking up and down the streets while on the phone to the cops.

The cops sent out 3-4 cops cars to search the area and by bro tells me all he could here was screeching tyres for 15 minutes while cops were desperately hunting for the bike.

It had been nicked by chavs who had seen him park the bike. They waited for him to go inside, snapped the steering lock and free-wheeled down the hill to the nearest back alley, tried to start it and failed. The then removed the fuel cap and set it on fire to get rid of fingerprints.

To say i am gutted is an understatement, the bike was gonna be my mode of transport over the summer to get to work.

will anything be salvageable? mmmmmmmmm.......

if you've got it insured you can claim for theft or fire, your bro dont matter much cos he wasnt riding it, it was parked and stolen ,hence fire and theft

This^^^

If your policy covers theft you should be covered, the bike was being temporarily stored and it was stolen. Your policy still applies no matter who was riding it at the time...

Always gutting to see your pride and joy in a state though, not a violent person but if I caught them with mine I suspect the name breaker bar might become a bit more literal...

Edit to add: I wouldn't entertain ideas of salvaging anything from the bike, what isn't heat damaged will be smoke damaged, just let them write it off

I will have to check the wording on my insurance but I am pretty sure that I am not covered for theft when the bike is in the charge of someone else.

Check your policy before calling to see if you are covered. If your not covered

I feel really sorry for you mate, that is the lowest of the low what they have done there. If someone is stealing something to sell cause they need/want the cash you can kind of understand but that is just midless vandalism.

Oh dude that's sickening

One thing, why are you worrying about insurance, just say you was visiting that house, you can ride and park it anywhere you like.

Why do they need to know your bro was in charge of it ?
