Default Oxford Sports panniers fitting a curvy - Suggestions please

Hi,

I have brought some Oxford Sports panniers and they are too long to fit the standard curvy. There are several threads on the forum but they were cheap and I will not let common sense stop me.

What I intend to do is mount an indicator on a stainless steel strip to set the indicators back around 8 inches. For the bike fixing I will use the original indicator holes. Obviously I will have to extend the wiring on the indicators but doing it like this means that I can just refit the standard ones when the panniers are not on the bike without chopping the loom.

I could buy a givi rack and mount to there as an alternative. I do have a wanted thread for one or something similar (not a Rentec one though)

Any views or suggestions before I put up a request for some rear curvy indicators. The panniers are a good size and I want to keep them.

Thanks.

I've done the same thing on mine. They can be persuaded to sit far enough forward when I'm riding solo, and cable tie to the existing indicators, but when I've got Mrs. Rod on the back, I have brackets that push the indicators 9" backwards, so she can get her feet on t'pillion pegs. I leave the extended wiring in place and just stuff it back into the holes in the tail piece, but just put the brackets on when needed, no need for a new set of indis.

I wish I had a photo of my curvy with those panniers on with a pillion. I didn't have to move anything for them (and her) to fit.

There are probably a load of different types under the banner of "Oxford Sports" but point is, if you need to dangle them backwards and put the indis on stalks, do it, it's no big deal.
