Default Batik wax pot needed

Quite away from bikes, but the .Org usually delivers.

The wife's just e-mailed and the the wax melting pot for her art department has bust.

Anyone know of one going cheap or where she could get one from.

Failing that any idea what is likely to have gone pop and if it's and easy fix? Unfortunately at the moment I don't have any more details.

How big is it? May sound like a silly suggestion but a stop gap might be a fondue pot. My daughter got a cheap one last christmas and it's very good for melting chocolate for cooking purposes (my wife tells me) and has been used far more for this than for dunking cheese/fruit/other (!). They have a very gentle heat so do not make the contents too hot.

No idea on size, can't be too big though.

Update is that it was PA tested and they decided the wires were knackered so condemded it and it's been chucked.

For some reason they didn't try to repair it, but this is a school so probably outside contractors and the school don't think to repair, just get new...OK if there's money in the budget, not OK this time though.

Anyway, I've fond some online which are resonable, the fondue thing is a good idea, and there's also hair removal wax melters that should do the job for about £30 (just need to check specs)

I'll let her sort it.

I remember doing batik'ing in high school, was really fun until the 'bigger boy's decided they'd had enough and it turned into a wax fight. Much hair was lost that day...

There are expensive ones like these http://www.homecrafts.co.uk/products...x-Pot_M339.htm

or you could just use an old small cast iron pan and use that, my sister makes and sells Batik paintings and has never brought expensive pots to do it.
