Default BSA Bantam 175 Bushman Sport

Hello!

I picked up my new project today, a BSA Bantam 175 Bushman Sport. The intention is to strip it down and rebuild it into a road going condition.

It was given to me by my dads friend who isn't too sure of its exact model so I believe it to be a Bantam 175 Bushman Sport, but if anyone knows their BSA's I'd be glad if you could shine some light!

Watch this space!

Rob

I'll watch this with interest as I found out recently my dad had a BSA bantam 125 before I was born, he died in 1978 so I had no idea.

No one I know of has any interest in bikes

I will have to get one in later life no doubt

How many gears has it got?Only the last series had four, all the others were three speed.I think the D14 was the last version.

This is my first time I've done anything like this so it may be a bit slow!!! I can't wait to get started on it, it's chucked it down pretty much all day since I picked it up!

I couldn't honestly tell you to be honest. I know virtually very little about the bike and I'm slowly sifting through google to find information.

Engine and frame numbers will give away loads, what's the engine number prefix?

The engine number is D10A 5332. I can't find the frame number as I've only had chance to have a quick look.

I think I had one or two of them.D10 will be a three speed one.Very easy to work on as they are such a basic design. You will need an impact driver to get it apart though.
