Default Top yoke-Bar risers

Hi just joined the forum name is pete i live in eynsford nr the pied bull kent, i have just got a 1999 sv with 9000 miles on it i have just changed the oil,oil filter,airfilter,it wasn't firing on the front cylinder changed both plugs now it runs really nice. this question has probably been asked before is their any reason why i cant drill the top yoke and put two bar risers on then renthal bars, i know i need longer cables.? if any one also has a spare black fairing looking at the bike from the front left side, as mine is beyond repair regards to all pete.

Hi Pete & welcome, we're down the pied bull tomorrow evening for the fortnightly meet (details at the top of the selkent section).

Generally it's not considered a good idea to drill the top yoke without some form of additional support as you're creating a point of weakness there, a number of ways of doing it though, the easiest of which is to find (if you can) a naked top yoke, or bond a plate under the original and clamp through to that.
