why on the curvy sv the chain adjuster was a hex bolt and now on the pointy it s a bloody bolt!
anyone know if these can be switched around, with or without the cap? |

As long as the thread and pitch are the same you can change the bolt head to what ever the hell you like, but, why would you want to change what Suzuki have done?
I would imagine it be because people have access to spanners more han hex bits and bolts are harder to "round" |

will have a look, i have more hex bits than spanners... guess i'm odd!
my spanners seem to go missing.... i end up trying to undo bolts with a set of molegrips or adjustable spanner ... you were talking about rounding off.... 2003~ ~2003 so that answers that then... ![]() Last edited by nikon70; 26-02-11 at 09:24 PM. |

I deffo never undo anything using molegrips or a adjustable spanner unless its a last resort situation or the adjustable goes up to the size i dont have a spanner or socket size for.... had so many bolts/nuts destroyed or damaged using them.

It's not Suzuki's fault you're trying to undo a standard nut with tools less suited than those under the seat
![]() Plus as they changed the frame, swingarm, wheels and most of the bike in 2003. I guess the adjusters didn't seem like a big thing to change after that ![]() Jambo

the pre 03 bikes have an alloy extruded swingarm, where as the later ones it's steel box section, so they obviously used that as a way to save a few bob on production costs.
you may well get the earlier adjusters to fit, however the end plate isn't the same shape and will overlap a bit as it's the extruded shape.

you could be right I might be thinking of the Hyosung 250 version as that was the last one I worked on (looks the same as the pointy one) and as I don't have alloy welding stuff it had to be steel.
