So, this business of the brits still waiting to be airlifted out. According to the P M 'we're doing everything we can'. According to the bbc news the planes still haven't left UK. Shameful imo. Some body needs to pull their bloody finger out. They were told about three days ago apparently.
Sorry...no links...posting from phone.

Yup. The Germans, the french and the Turkish have been busy getting their people out yesterday. In fact some of them even took on board Britons and Americans to get them to safety.

They are supposedly sending another boat...but it wont get there until Friday.

I had a smile on my face when i heard the locals took on the army and won in one location. They did so as they learnt they were ordered to bomb the protesters.

A couple of years ago the Royal Navy did an evacuation from Lebanon.Im very doubtful we have the ships to do that now.We certainly dont have the air cover required to do any flying near Libya. We would need the Ark Royal for that.Oh dear.

Thinking out loud here but with the amount of unrest in the world that seems to be self perpetuating why is Britain scaling down our armed forces to the point where we are nearly useless when time comes for action!!

I think if a Frenchman on a bicycle wielding a toothpick chose to invade Britain, we'd have our first king Jean Pierre. Wee wee.

I heard on BBC that we've got a navy ship nearby waiting for Brit nationals.

And one is called Bretagne, and the other Pont Aven????? And for those that don't know Plymouth, both belong to Brittany Ferries

Let's send HMS Invincible. Oh, scrapped. HMS Ark Royal then.

Yes, oh dear indeed.
