Default Re-sticking Stomp Grips?

Is it friday the 13th or something? what else can go wrong?

I was all ready to stick my Stomp pads back on the tank and I find out some ****, who shall remain nameless, has moved them from the very safe and secure place they were patiently waiting to go back on the bike, sticky side up, to sticky side down on the F****g painted garage floor!!!

So I now have Iron oxide coloured clear stomp pads. Not exactly the look I was going for.

So the question is, before I KILL someone, how do you remove the sticky stuff on the back of the Stomp pads and what do you replace it with?

Off to Punch the wall a few times.

WD40 getting any of it off?? i wouldnt use any harsh solvents as you dont want to melt/dissolve the grips..

sellotape or other sticky tape. wrap tape round your fingers and dab it off. also works for fluff on clothes.

I've never heard of them being able to be stuck back on.

Let us know how you get on!

the backing will peel off fairly easily with a drop of washingup liquid and rolling it or as said wd40.

I have a roll of this stuff, which is good as it's waterproof & strong enough, I've only got it in tape form about 2 inches wide, but they may do it in sheets ?

Cheers Mark.

Thanks for the hints.
I can report that the Washing up thing Phailed. better to rub it off dry. I'll try WD40 to get it right off.

I've got some doube sided sticky tape to try and also some clear silicone sealer.

I've banged an email off to Stompgrip too to see what they say.

Ok, WD 4o just smeared the glue all over the palce but a 10 minute steep in petrol brought it straight off.

next, and suitable adhesive substitute. I've got Automotive sticky Spray, Mr Sticky Sticky spray and carpet adhesive to test. More later..
