well you dont have to bleed the brakes i just got a pipe clamp and clamped the lines just before they went into the master cyclinder then when you put it back on you just leave the lid off and pump the lever a few times and watch all the bubles come out.

lazy mans way lol

its not that hard to do at all only problem i had was getting the clip out (cant rember what they are called but that was a pain).

why are you doing the service may i ask ??

Lazy bast!
personally I'd just bleed em...specially if it's not been done in a while.
you need some quite long thin circlip pliers (i had to grind mine down) but otherwise it's pretty straight forward.
just remove the lever and the rubber boot, take out the circlip and it all pulls out. remembering how it went , swap your pieces.

If the master cylinder is in need of a service it may be reasonable to assume the brake fluid needs changing so pump plenty through when you bleed them

I am servicing because he rubber boot is all broken up and brittle and secondly under heavy braking the the piston kind of judders in and out not very smooth. I have some circlip plier like the attached pic, will these do?Attachment 8666

yer they will work fine.

this is what you will be changing

are you sure its not the pistons or the piston seals that need changing ?

This kit is only for the master cyclinder. But there is also another kit for the master cyclinder that is the lid and seal.

Ahhhh i think iv confused you i ment the seals in the cailpers that hold the pistons in

I'm not sure about the caliper i will check tho, the main issue is the pistion in the actual master cylinder beinng stiff and doesn't moce smoothly so i will satrt there.
