Default C44 error after Yoshimura fitted.

hi
i have a restricted sv650 09'
recently i changed the exhaust from stock to yushimora
and i went to an expert and unrestricted
now the error accured and i have couple of options
1. go to the dealer and ask him to check the error even though i checked it and it is 44 and then i hope he will change the sensor (or maybe changing will not help)
2.cancel the lambda sensor in the same way the speicial plug is doing
jumpering the plug going in to the motorcycle
3. please advise what should i do.and what it means to cancel the sensor from the engine point of view

thx allot
elad

Ok,
Just to clarify, an expert derestricted your 2009 SV (presumably by fitting a full-power ECU) and fitted a yoshimura exhaust system, and now you have a c44 error on the dash?

If this is a slip-on can they should not have had to alter anything.

If this is a full exhaust system, they may not have had a mounting point for the lambda sensor in the exhaust, and left it off. If this is the case they should have informed you of this.

Either way, an expert worked on your bike and now it doesn't work as well as it did, my first conversation would be with them.

The c44 error code is for the oxygen/lambda sensor so likely they've either removed the sensor or not refitted it. As Jambo mentioned the full exhaust system might not come with a mounting point.

Ideally you should get the sensor remounted even for a replacement full system. You may have to remove the mounting position from the original pipework and have it welded in place to the new pipe.

thx in advance
the system is not full it is a slip on and the derestriction was after i put the yushimora at another dealer
so first i put the exhaust and then derestricted the ecu.which was not replacing the ecu but in another way which i am not sure what it is.

now i have the error and dont know what to do

when he did his thing with the ecu and went for a test drive he left the lambda connector unconneted and went back to the shop because of the error

then he reconnected it and the error stayed

i thought of diconnecting the battery and see if it goes away
i did diconnected and it didnt help

should i go on with out a lambda
or maybe change the sensor (go to the dealer - it has 1700 Km)

helppppppppppppppp

I dont think the SV has an error code memory as far as I know. Might be wrong though.

It is entirely possible that the fuelling is out or that the sensor is faulty. I'm interested in what restriction was 'removed' It should be a replacement ECU on that model.

So, it was working, the guy did his thing and derestricted it and now you get an error code yes? I would be right back to him and have it sorted out.

having just had my lambda sensor replaced under warranty, i can say that if the fault has not cleared the sensor is foobar, and no you cant get an after market one i have tried. new one in the uk is £240.. ooohh and yes the SV does remember fault codes as i can remember the dealer saying that they cleared the fault codes.

one other thing is before i got mine replaced one of the contacts had corroded. i cleaned it up and it worked for a wee while then gave up.

ok
i went today to the main dealer in Tel Aviv
what he said the the eroor was indeed in the history of the bike
he deleted it and when i came back he said that everything is ok and i can go
but i asked that he will go for a testdrive and as i thought he got the error again.
he said that even with the error the engine runs fine(i dont accept this answer) so he told me to come back again.
we will see what will happen next time which will be this week ( ihope)
i still dont know what the expert did to unrestrict the bike but now it runs great

still sounds like a faulty sensor, they can be fragile as they have a ceramic core. A faulty sensor may not show up immeadiately after starting the bike but a test ride that brings it up to temperature would.

My guess is the sensor is broken.
