I have done a search and noted that there is a lot on the site ref brake lines, however I wanted to enquire what other peoples experiences are.
I'm on a '06 SV 650s and was wondering what people are using? I'm thinking of HEL or Goodridge, front and rear. |

Standard on my curvy at the moment. If I upgrade I would probably go Goodridge as I have used these before on other bikes. I find that on some bikes the hoses are a little too long. Not sure on the SV's though!

I think its just personal preference at the end of the day, you hear stories of HEL lines arriving in the wrong legnth but then again goodridge also mess up as well, i ordered a set of goodridge lines for my bike and they came in about 100mm too short. But for me, my preference is goodridge, dont know why, just is

The thing i like about goodridge lines is they are modular, they can come in stock lengths then you can interchange the fittings at the end cos they screw in.
It does work out more expensive this way i think but gives you freedom to change things if they dont quite look or fit right. |

Either are fine but I ended up with goodridge on both bikes after HEL tried and failed to fulfill simple orders.

I have Venhill brake lines on mine and they're great quality, they come with S/S banjo bolts and copper washers and the lengths were spot on, you can get them off of ebay in a variety of colours.

http://www.venhill.co.uk/ the dogs doodazz. modular design and choice of fittings. i do prefer the hel ss banjo bolts though.
measure the length of your brake line you want to replace form swedge to swedge (excluding banjo parts) ends and that is the length of your brake line. you then choose the fittings. its a bit complicated but they are fantastic lines. |

I fitted Hel to my black SK5 and they arrived next day at perfect lengths with the fittings at just the right angles. I've used Goodridge before and had no problems. I used to get my brake lines made to measure very cheaply by a JCB and suchlike hydraulic hose suppliers in Milton Keynes, but the guy who owned the company died a couple of years back and he was my only trade contact there. I suppose I ought to go and befriend his son, who now runs it.
