Default Thinking of selling, how to set price?

I can't remember seeing any threads on gauging the price of an SV, but if there is then please point me in the right direction.

I am thinking of taking advantage of Kawasaki's 0% apr offer on the ER6-F and my friend wants to buy my bike. I want to give him it at a good price, but I am finding it hard to find what a 'good price' is.

I have looked on here, on ebay (seems trade sellers are looking for a lot), Glass, Parkers and Bike Trader (running very slow for me tonight so finding it difficult), but I can't seem to find any 'normal' price.

Mine is a 1999 SV650s, it has 27k miles on it. Will have full test and 5 months tax. Just had an oil change and both tyres were replaced recently. The petrol tank is a different shade of yellow, but otherwise the bike is in 'decent' condition (far from 'mint' but not scruffy). I have just changed the output shaft oil seal, the spacer, the o ring and the lock washer.

Any sort of help (even if it is somewhre else to look) wiuld be much appreciated. I don't want to sell myself short, but definately don't want to make him pay more than i'd get selling elsewhere.

How much are similar ages / spec'd bikes being advertised on the biketrader website for, pick 1/2 dozen or and average the price out and then tell him thats what you want for it.

It seems they range from 900 to £2k . That's where my issue lies, I know it isn't worth anywhere near the £2k but there's not a lot to go off.

I paid £1,350 when I bought it and that seemed reasonable at the time.

This is a pic I took when I bought it. The wheels are black now, but otherwise looks the same and has 5k more miles on.

Or pick 1/2 dozen bikes, discount the highest and lowest values then average them up.

I sold a K1 SVS with 33K on it for £800 a couple of years back, but 2nd hand prices have gone up since then. If I were you I'd tell him you want £1350 for it and see what he says.

I've just sold a 99 curvy in red with 6m tax and MOT in pretty much the same condition as yours. Mine had a belly pan, 5k miles less, and a few extra bit and bobs that I had knocking about. I got £1100 for it.

I'd say husky is bang on and £1000 is a perfect price for it especially as it's your mate.

give him it for what you would have got as a trade in.

or if its a good mate then give him it for what you paid or knock something off since you have had some enjoyment out of it.

i'd say if you got it for 1350 and have had it a cppl yrs then say a grand.

Looks like I am looking at £1k then. I have had plenty of fun on it and it has been a great first bike, I would definately reccommend a SV to anyone.

I'm still not 'set' on getting the ER6, so the SV may stay, I have had a lot of fun on it (I am sure the ER6 would be fun) and I am finding it hard to stray away from the SV.
