Default Finally moved away from the Sv....

Well, after passing my test a couple of years ago and thoroughly enjoying both the curvy and the pointy, yesterday I picked up my new (to me) Fazer FZ1!

It is simply, amazing! The speed is unbelievable. For those that didnt see it advertised in the for sale section here it is:

http://davebowes.co.uk/fz1/

The first ride was interesting when I discovered that engine braking was non-existent.. also the sound and rev range is completely different and constantly found myself in 6th gear at about 45mph... Need to learn to rev it more, redline isnt until 12k for god sake...

However, prior to picking the bike up I was worried about cornering and the different weight as its a bigger bike, but was amazing to find that its so much easier to corner and ride than the sv, it just falls straight in to them, I have gained so much more confidence in that first ride than I even got with either of the Sv's!

Also just treated myself to two new tyres. I read some reviews and got some Battlax 023's. There are currently 020's on there now which are pretty much illegal. Did I make the right choice in going for them?

Out with the old and in with the new!!

Nice bike but a firm ride and a hard old seat when you do 200miles

I agree to the hard seat but it's alot wider than the Sv and accommodates my lardy ass better...!

That's lovely - I've been fancying one for some reason but couldn't decide if I genuinely liked the look of them...but that one's really nice! I mustn't have seen a gen 2 bike.

There is quite a lot been done to it but the biggest difference is just the lower fairings.

I love it! Just been out on it again

Very nice looking bike. If I can give one piece of advice, be wary in the wet until you are used to the extra horses. I found this out when I exited a roundabout sideways in second on my FJR.
