overfuelling after long stand

Right bike has been left up for a few months, well, about 12 months to be exact.

After a good charge, new plugs, and fresh fuel, i tried to fire it up.

Well, to say it flooded is an understatement, it was spewing fuel out the exhaust (and its definatly fuel) It is firing, but its as tho there is soooo much fuel it wont run.

Is there a sensor that controls how much fuel is being dumped through the fuel tap or somthing? The carbs seem clean enough, and the motor ran perfect until it mothballed last year.....

if fuels spewing out and its firing fine, it pretty much has to be the carbs.. check the floats/needles arnt gummed up cos if its pushing too much fuel through it will likely be running rich... carb arnt always as clean as they look especially if old fuels been sat in them.

also take a look in the air box to check its all clear.. other than that id think seals??

Start with a strip and clean of the carbs, the petrol eveportaing out of them can leave behind a gummy residue and that can jam things up. At a guess I would say your float needles are stuck open.
