Default Reg/Rec Kaput?....Again (Sorry)

Yes, I've searched. Just looking for confirmation really as there's a good chance I could be missing the point. I just had to buy a multimeter and I'm trying to get over my electrical phobia.

After a fairly spirited 50 mile ride with lights on I stopped for 10 minutes and, when I went to re-start, I had a flat battery. Bump started and rode the 15 miles home at a gentle pace with no lights. No more flat battery and the bike starts like a good 'un, although I've not been back out for a ride.

The figures below were taken across the not-fully charged battery. It's on charge now and I'll check again tomorrow;

Battery (ignition off) 12.53V
Idle (no lights) 13.3V
Idle (with lights) 12.07V
5k RPM (with lights) - fluctuating between 10.8V & 12.5V

The lack of charge at higher revs seems to fit with what happened.

I've checked the connectors and they are in good nick with no corrosion.

I'll check the unregulated voltage tomorrow (bit late for 5k unbaffled RPM's now). According to Haynes I'm looking for 70V AC across the three yellow wires that go to the reg/rec tested in pairs at the engine side connector.

Assuming I get that, is it a safe bet the reg/rec needs replaced, or is there anything else I should be checking?

Sorry to come with incomplete info but I need the bike for the ARTNW next week so I need to get on with it sharpish and want to make sure I'm not barking up the wrong tree.

BTW, this is my unmodified curvy SV - no electrical bodges or accessories.

Also check for voltage drop across wires. Put it on DCV, stick one probe on red at battery and other on red at reg-rec... same again for DC. This will tell you if volts are going missing in the wires.
