How far will an sv650 get once the petrol light comes on???

i done 30 mile after it started flashing. i filled up and put 14.5 ltr in which would leave 2.5 ltr in the tank till dry so i would say 50miles. i get about 60-70 to the gal though.
so presume 40 miles to be safe. |

I normally start getting a bit twitchy when it stops flashing and stays on solid, not done more than 10 miles once its on solid.

According to HAYNES......!
Fuel light on earlier models (16lt tank) will start to flash at 3.5lts, solid light at 1.5lts. K3 upwards (17lt tank) the light will start to flash at approx 4lts. So it depends on your driving really, the last time I did a millage check I got bout 180 miles on a full tank (K5). 180/17 = 10.5miles/lt. So from initial flash of the light I would say exactly as Bibio says about 40 miles. (max) Last edited by macker; 11-05-11 at 09:00 AM. |

U would b brave taking it more than 40 but it all depends on how u ride.
