Can anybody give me some sort of clue as to cleanliness, food and care offered to an elderly patient as my dad[85] has just been admitted.
Thanks

It is fairly new. About 2 yr old so I suppose designed to be easy cleaned. But as always it is down to the staff. If you need a room whilst visiting, you are welcome. We are about 7 miles away.

Hope you dad gets better

I was born in the old one!

Hope your Dad gets better soon, I'm not a million miles away from Tim, and the offer is open here too.

You;ll not be stuck for meals then DT...

Hope your old man is ok, and that they found his teeth.

(On a serious note, the hospital and the particular ward should have monthly audit results for cleanliness, hygiene, handwashing, etc on display, and they are legally obliged to provide you with this information if you request it.)

I visit there, professionally, pretty much every month, sometimes several times a month. Ten years ago I wouldn't want to be in there for anything but recent years has seen huge improvements in pretty much every aspect of the place.

The new buildings, bought through pfi, also included huge expenditure on modern equipment. Typically, having a bright, new, hospital superbly kitted out has given everyone there a huge lift and as a result the staff performance has improved tremendously.

I wouldn't have a problem being in there if I needed to be.
