Default Any Scalectrix experts on here?

My son was doing some homework on old toys and asked me about any toy I remembered. So I phoned my old man and asked him to bring my Scalectrix Blow-Out from 1983-84 round.

It is almost in perfect condition still with all the bits, however one of the cars isn't working as the wires have come out of the glide bit.

...and I cannot find anywhere local to try and repair it for me, so we can't race it.

Can anyone on here help?

The car in question is identical to this, which if it is cheap enough will be purchased - job done.

Post a pic please.
From memory, the two wires are the ones running from the motor to the brushes.
Should be straight forward enough to buy either a replacement brush set or perhaps bodge the damaged one.

Krhall if your on about the contact with the track you can get them from Modelzone (i think) and think they were connections on the back

The ends of the wires have a crimp on, push the pickup brush through the slot in the brush holder from the bottom and then push the crimped end of the wire into the elongated side of the slot on the upper side, this secures the brush in the holder.

The crimps have seemingly come off of the wires and I cannot find any in the box...

I get all the parts for mine from a company called "top slots and trains"
I'll second Ralph, just own up to playing with it as it's not a kids game anymore!
I've got about 250 feet of track in the spare room waiting for the winter to set in!
