Ok then folks i know that this has been discussed many a time before but as im about to sell the car and the bike is going to be my only form of transport i thought i would revisit it (that and its actually sunny for a change) Now coming home last night i was troubled by a bit of glare so i got the tinted pinlock out and realised that i had scratched it (tbh i scratched it on first use after i stored it in the cardboard it came in) so its in but im getting a fair bit of reflection back from my glasses as the sun still comes through the gap at the top.
Soo i was thinking about either a tinted visor (i don’t really like the idea of carrying a spare visor though) or one of the reactatint pinlocks. Ive used the hyperoptics one before and it was good but havnt tried this. Anyone got any opinions. I quite like the idea of a dark visor but often find myself in very changeable conditions when on the bike. |

Dark visor for me. I carry my clear one (when i remember it that is) inside my jacket around my waist, easy.
I found those that changed colour with the brightness never really got dark enough for me and i have very sensitive eyes you see. HTH.

I have a lid with a slide down visor, but didnt find it that great. So i got a tinted visor anyway and found it much better than the slide down visor built into the helmet.
+1 to spiderman, I simply carry the clear visor if i remember/think i may need it |

Think you will be surprised how "not dark" dark vsiors are from the inside!
I use a Hyperoptiks for a few more weeks then its on with a black with the lighter mornings and evenings. Cant be beat for changeable conditions.....excluding dark of course! H-Optiks is only a little better than a standard clear in riding into the sunshine, sunshine/wet roads. |

Now i dont have the mortorway bit to do since i moved its not so scary of i forget the clear one, lit roads aitn too bad once you get used to it, lol.

+1 I have both a dark tinted visor and a clear one both with clear pinlock inserts. On a very dull overcast day you can still see fine with a dark visor, although it would make sense to use the clear one. As long as you're not riding in the dark then it'll be fine. It's when you forget your clear visor and realise you have to ride home in the dark that it's an issue... |

I use a dark visor and carry the clear one with me at all times (well nearly all!) for getting home late / weather changes. Mine is almost black from the outside but is not too dark looking out through it. I don't like inserts / sun glasses because there is always a gap that is not covered by the tinted part and that distracts me.
It is no hassle to carry a spare, either under your jacket around the ribs or in a visor bag. I have a visor pouch in my bum-bag that I always wear when in leathers, so it's easy for me. |
