Default Whoops!, My first tumble on the road!

I fell off, I looked a complete Tw@ and I strugled to pick the SV back up while a load of blokes watched me, one of whom was the cause of my sudden dismount.

Unable to speak and shaking like a proverbial leaf, I mounted up and rode off to see my friend Simon who patted my shoulder and said "There there!"

Damage was a broken front brake lever, scratches to the fairing and a scrape on the exhaust. Nothing serious and not worth punching the van drivers face in, for cutting a corner and stopping mid way because there is a biker there he had not even bothered to look at!

As for me, my body armour on my brand new jacket took the impact and the arm got scuffed. Thankfully I was sat still at the give way line when it happened.

And that's why we all wear proper gear! Glad you're ok though, and well done for getting straight back on - best way to cure the shakes. I presume the van was white?

Thank you for your kind words every one.

I am now browsing E-Bay for a new lever, so I go for the original Suzuki one for £30 from Fowlers, the Taiwanese pattern part for £20 or the mega gizmo, anodised super lever from Hong Kong for £20?

Part of me is saying that you get what you pay for, the Suzuki original lever is exactly what I have on there now. I know it works, but it is a bit bland. The Taiwanese one is essentially a slightly better polished lever and according to the E-Bay page they claim to be making parts for the big manufacturers anyway. The Hong Kong option looks just too good to be true, all of those flashy anodised bits and funky machined levers may well look great, but what if the lever snaps off on the motorway, I will regret buying it then!

Hmmm, stuck now. Too much choice... Advice please lovely people?

Bad luck Jayne but glad you're OK.

I've got the flashy Hong Kong levers and I'm happy enough with them FWIW.
