Default How long do fork seals typically last?

On the curvy SV.

Ive just noticed, both of my seals are leaking oil bad! They have only done 10k over 18 months! They were perfectly fine in Feb for mot.

Such a boring job to replace them, they were wemoto pattern ones.

Aslong as the stantions arent pitted or stone chipped then as long as a bit of string..although generally lots of miles. Check your stantions closely for any stone chips, by running your finger down the stantion. Anything is enough to tear a seal. Same goes for ratchet strapping the bike down in a van etc..

As far as I know my curvy seals are the originals. Bike had 19000 on it when I got it in April 2010, it has 33000 on it now and the seals are still good. As above if the stanchions are in good order they should last for ages. Helps to keep the legs clean(ish) too.

I changed mine at 24k,just because I wanted to change the fork oil.

They could have lasted another 24k!

as above.
My l/h started weeping at 6k (replaced at 7k as the oil was useless), 10 year old seal. The dusts were totally fine too

The stantions are perfect. Protectors were on when bought at 21k, the oem ones were starting to leak so changed them after buying. Ill buy oem ones this time.
