Default Anyone been to Bodrum in Turkey?

The wife and I have been invited to a wedding in Bodrum, Turkey. We have the hotel and everything booked, but was wondering if anyone had been there as we like to explore and wondered what is worth visiting. Did anyone visit the Dedeman waterpark?

Went a few years ago on a day trip from Kos. Was very impressed, lovely place. Visited the gold emporium or whatever it is called, which was a waste of time though! The usual hassle from shop owners trying to sell you everything and anything, but some fun to be had bartering . Went in mid July and it was nudging 45 degrees . In the end, we found a nice bar and the terrace etc was actually a private part of a beach at the back

As I remember it, it was Scorchio!

Nice walled town on the coast, near Olu Deniz. Some nice spots in Bodrum but also quite touristy.

Didn't do too much exploring. Nice but not outstanding, hot as feck, sea warm, cold beer, can't be bad.

It's in themiddle of touristville so you'll have plenty to do. I know you can go whitewater rafting from the Natalya area which isn't that far off, maybe you can do the same from there. Overnight boat trip on a gullet. Enjoy!

Went sailing off the coast there, very nice - good wind!

Bodrum is nice...didn't rate Turkey that highly though...

I am sure I have been to that watermark when I have been to Altinkum.
It was a few years ago now so can't remember much about it.
I will have a gander on the net when I get home and see if it's the same one I went to.

Went to Gumbet 2 years ago and spent a day in Bodrum - its nice enough for a touristy type place. Pretty forgettable though really - I remember the buses mainly and the drivers leaning out of the window shouting "Bodrum" whilst we were in Gumbet. Sea is nice in that area but the weather is blooooooming hot (never went below 32° even in the middle of the night!)

Sorry for the pretty useless post...
