Default Drive chain adjustment

So first time my drive chain slack needs adjusting on my pointy:

Refering to the owners manual.
'Loosen the axle nut'. Well the spanners in the under seat tool kit aint up to the job. Even a pair of 9" adjustable spanners set at 22 and 24mm won't budge it.

I note the axle nut should be retightened to 100Nm.
So
1) On average how often am i goin to have to adjust the slack?
2) What real life tools am i goin to need for this job. Thinkin 22 and 24mm nut drivers , torque setting arms etc?

Buy a 2' breaker bar, decent sockets, spanners and a torque wrench.

Decent 1/2 inch drive socket set will last a lifetime and will handle the biggest jobs on the bike. Torque wrench useful if you can afford it.

As to how often - depends on use, quality of chain, lube, conditions etc. Generally whenever it needs it

Remember to note where the alignment markers are before you break the axle nut. Saves you the job of doing a proper wheel alignment before tightening everything up if you can't be arsed.
