Default My West Indian Neighbours

...finally became English yesterday. It wasn’t via a citizen application, nor the supply of a British passport, nor pledging allegiance to queen and country. No, it was much more simple than that, and shows that he will, better than some, fit into English life far better than some of his fellow countryman.

So what did they do that made them so quintessentially English?

Had a BBQ in the rain under the cover of an umbrella.

West Indian neighbour!

How very cosmopolitan of you. I don't think we have any in the village. There was one but he went to live in France 10 years ago. We do have a gay though and a Paki shop that sells only English food.

Did you go and blag some food and beer from him without being invited. That's another good tradition, it is round my way at least.

Now THAT'S English - two separate BBQ's being held within metres of each other and neither people invited to the other! They'll fit in fine
