Default Dropped bike.

Hello all, I'm a newbie so please go easy on me!

I have a SV650S SL0, 2011 only 4 weeks old.

This morning I had a disaster, got the bike outta the garage onto the pavement.

I turned to close the gate, CRASH! Over the bike went.

It slipped on some gravel off the stand and broke the clutch lever, gear lever, left front indicator and bent the left bar end a little...

After a day away from home and being in a severe bad mood I returned home to inspect her further..

The clutch lever will survive for now, only the end (ball piece) has snapped off.
Gear lever, this is shot, the main strut is fine but the little piece that you need snapped off so thats a new one.. £40.. Ordered already for collection friday.

Bar end has just sort of dislodged itself, so I can undo it and push it back in place and re tighten....

BUT..

The indicator casing has smashed, but the bulb and wiring have survived as has the rubber stem which attatchs it to the bike.

Does anyone know if you can buy JUST the plastic casing rather than the whole indicator?

Thanks in advance.. From a very cheesed off T33.

Yep, suzuki sell just the lenses cos i bought some when i had a pointy, they were about £7 each, look on ebay as there is some on there occasionally.

Too late now but as you had the piece that snapped off the gear shifter, you couldve repaired it, i did mine and nobody noticed, drilled and tapped the stem and put a lock nut on the back of it.
Did around 2500 miles like that so no problems.

i think someone on here was actually selling some indy lenses! or it might be a good time to get some LED ones? look much nicer!

Unlucky about the drop though mate! I hear it happens to the best of us, thankfully not to me yet but its only a matter of time im sure! Im always super anal about making sure the stand is down, been like it since the day i started my DAS, always give the thing a little kick before i put the bikes weight on it, and even then il give the bike a bit of a rock while im still on it to make sure its not going anywhere!

I'd consider replacing the clutch lever though, as im sure some nasty sharp metal edge will soon enough catch on your glove and give you a nasty little hole or something and they are'nt really all that expensive to replace!

Thanks peeps,

I will be getting the clutch lever but cash is mega tight at the mo so it's a case of getting it roadworthy first, cosmetics later.

Re the lenses, well it's the lens and the back of it... Sort of the whole bulb housing but NOT the stem.

So if someone does know of somewhere that I can get a replacement for less than £27 (cheapest ive seen so far)
Then well, I wouldn't kiss ya but... I'd think about it!!!

I'll post a couple of poorly pointy pics later this week pre repair!!!

Look on the bright side, everything you damaged is a relatively cheap fix and easy to replace. If you'd damaged your nose fairing, your tank, and your tail fairing you'd be really upset.

Bugger. Could always have been worse though!

Fixer pegs are great for such cases, contact DavieSV on here, always worth having a couple just in case.

I paid £16 for an indicator on eBay, but check http://www.svspares.com/catalogue/232-1_electrical.htm only £11 +p&p, which annoyed me when i realised i could have got one cheaper. Tho they both say rear i belive that the right rear is the front left and the left rear is the front right if you catch my drift.

EDIT: obviously they are used though, dont know if this is an issue

with the above in mind
i have 2 spare indys from the back of my bike, snipped the wires so you might have to do it a bit of electrical bodging to connect them but if you want it you could have it cheap, and id post it tomorrow!

Orr.... depending if you can wait, i've just bought myself some LED indys for the front, and i'll probably fit them this weekend, so if you're interested i could sent the LHS front indy monday morning, again cheap!

Only thing is, i see yours is a 2011, does it have clear indy lenses? as mine are orange.

gimme a pm if you're interested
