Hello again forum peoples!
Just thought I'd poke my head in here as I used to be fairly active before I dissapeared to go travelling. Now back after a year but not on an SV. Got myself a new toy to play with! (pic below!) Hope to see some of you out on rideouts soon. I'm working in Oxford for the next 6 months so if anyone is around there for a ride, gimme a shout! Sean ![]() ![]() |

Hi Sean, sold the old K3 then?
Matey-girl who owned it before you has just bought another SV after owning a 929 Blade and then a 2010 CBR600RR. Seems the lure of the V-twin is too strong for some people to resist |

K3 isn't sold yet, that's why I'm mega poor right now! Sitting in my uncles garage waiting for a buyer.
As for the raptor, I love it! Only been out for one ride so far as I'm still waiting to get my biking clothes/helmet out of a loft after returning from travelling. 1st and second gear are both mental and require lots of clutch use. After that it's less wheelie inclined but still shockingly fast. Saying all this I've hardly used much of the throttle yet. Rearsets are lovely and back brake feels fine. Bike feels quite refined compared to the SV and the wide bars make pushing it over easy. Interested to see how the tyres do. They're those new Maxxis Diamondmax, brand new on. Will be interesting to see how they compare to the storms in terms of life and grip. |

Shouldn't need to use clutch so often
![]() ![]() I don't find first and second mental at all.......however, acceleration in second then third.............mwhahahahahhahahhahah ![]() SOOOoooooooooooooo how low can ya go, its surprising how it just pulls you down into a corner with little effort, I've found my toes having to come off the pegs and hide out of the way, its love of corners very keen indeed! I'm no knee down person by a long shot, but oh my does that bike handle so well, Storm Ultra 2s on mine. Now you know why Raptor owners call it the worlds best kept secret ![]()

Yea I've not been on a bike for a while and last I was on an IL4 so the clutch is just me remembering not to stall the massive engine or jump into the car infront of me when I'm at some lights. Because it was quite snatchy I found it harder work at slow speeds round town than the SV but I was expecting that.
I'm getting used to it now though. Not tried getting too low yet, still getting used to the thing but the tyres and bike inspire much more confidence to get down than the CB400 I rode last! |

ahh right, the round town thing. They seem to suffer around 3.5k, so yeah on and off clutch is needed. However......they tend to be a bit snatchy or lumpy more so at 3.5k if they aren't warm enough. Once you've gotten it over 80 degrees, it should behave a little better. Mines dog horrid, until its woken itself up properly.
Theres lots that say mods are needed to counteract that, but if you know what it does, you learn to ignore it ![]() BTW.........at speed, it'll pull round corners at the same revs without so much as a hiccup. They're just attention seeking Italian Stallions!
