Default Help with mendig a PCB - (in a fx pedal)

Hi guys. hopefully the power of the ORG will once again come to the rescue!!

I have an old FX pedal for my Guitar that i hooked out the loft a couple of days ago. there is several things wrong with it, but in the process of cleaning it up i have realised that the PCB inside has snapped!!!

it is only a really small part, and it is where the power goes into the pedal and then accross to the board. looking at it the board at that point only has the power supply tracks, and not anything more intricate. Has anyone ever tried glueing/re-soldering a PCB? and if so what should i be aware of?

I assume that i will just need to rub the green topping away to expose the copper under, and then i should be able to solder accross the gap?

Hope this makes sense, and cheers in advance.

i will try and get some pictures on here at some point if that helps!

Clean the green off with a bit of steel wool, and if its just a hairline crack drop a blob of solder over it. Job done. For a slightly more permenant but fiddly repair you can strip a bit of thin wire and solder that along the offending track, but that takes more skill and depends on how thin the tracks are.

Cheers for reply, it is a snap, not a hairline crack, i assume that that makes no difference? i wasn't too sure if the board would beed glueing as well?

Easiest way of repairing a crack is to trace the tracks to the nearest components on each track that broken and solder wire between those components. This is much more reliable that trying to solder the tracks or wire to the tracks.
