Default R&G Question?

I'm looking for some r&g cotton reels for my GSR750 and have found them on the r&g website for £31 including delivery. Thing is the product code is cr001, and other models that use the same bobbbin code are £5 cheaper. Are these bobbbins exactly the same or are they all model specific????

I had this same problem when getting bungs for the SV and for a friends GSXR.. best thing to do is call R&G up and explain to them you think you've bought the wrong ones but they seem to fit ok (don't tell them you haven't bought them yet, I did that and they just do the whole referral to the website thing) and hopefully they will tell you that they are perfectly compatible and will fit perfectly.. then go buy them for cheaper!

I'm guessing a load of them are the same, as some of the fittings between models are the same but different prices..?! All very weird, try calling them is my advice.

If the product code is the same i don't see why they wouldn't fit

Call them and ask..do they fit and is the price correct as others with the same code are shown at a different price. No need to fib as been suggested. R&G are great lads..and lasses.

They are nice people at R & G but what I found odd was I bought one of their superbike outdoor covers the other day off the site £55 delivered.

The next morning I just happened to search it again and found the same cover £38 delivered with free tank protector so I phoned them up and cancelled and told them I just thought it was odd other people where selling their products cheaper than they could offer them to me for. I did offer to leave the order with them if they dropped the postage charge but they cancelled it instead. Fair Do's..

You gotta shop around

R&G obviously dont want to trade at a loss or at only break even. Knowing what the covers cost and postage then whoever was selling it for £38 did you a favour but sold it at a loss. Doesnt make good business sense that LOL

I cant see how the other company where making money either really to be honest but there was a fair few of them doing it.

I have no complaints with R & G they are a great company, I have my own online shop and its tough trying to keep a decent profit margin especially with metal costs going through the roof and manufacturing prices rising.

Thats the sad part of the motorcycle trade IMHO, its all run by discounting and companies just turning cash and then going bust. Sadly only companies such as Tesco etc can afford to run at minimal margins due to the volume of their business. I can envisage in 10 years time the days of walking into a dealers to collect the essentials at the last minute will be gone as there wont be many left.

I used to work at the big shows, by the end of the week stands would be selling helmets at only break even or even at a loss...why?. No point going if your not going to cover costs. hence why most shows are now full of tat and the decent sellers dont bother. The trade is getting very close to that now on the high street.

I can only agree on R&G being great. They gave a me a set of thier newly designed bungs for the curvey SV after i had a bit of a whinge about thier old design to, as it turned out, the MD, free of charge.

As for thier products. Im still not convinced that they are the best solution and i have tested mine a few times!

It turned out to be exactly the same item as i thought, but i found a company called Evotech Perfomance that did them even cheaper!! (£16.84) Just as good quality as R&G IMHO so think i will try all there protection out on my GSR. Next on the list is a tail tidy as it makes the bike look mint from pics i've seen.
PS: Thanks for replies
