Default My SV650S Arrived! It's light as ****.

My SV650S arrived yesterday. It's a 2005 model, blue in color, looks stunning and has been kept in amazing condition by the previous owner. Not a spec of dirt or scratch anywhere on the bike. It's got a scorpion exhaust, very loud.

But, yeah, anyway. When it arrived I had to push it to the back garden and I was shocked at how light it was.

Just a shame I'm not legal to ride it yet Got a few weeks to wait for my test. Can't wait to be able to ride it.

Is the transition going to be difficult from a 125 to a 650 or is it just a case of getting used to the additional weight and power?

Yay !!!!

Is it unrestricted? if so for me it was the power when you get in the upper rev range....(well mine did).

I went from 125 to restricted sv 650, gelled with the sv much better than most of the 125s I had. On the first ride found I could u-turn it no problem (it was naked) unlike previous bikes and felt it had much better presence on the road, making you feel a lot less vulnerable. I found the power difference good fun too for a while. So don't worry about the transition, just hop on enjoy it and take it easy 'til you know the bike.

And yes they're very light, one of my favourite things about them

Oh and welcome, and enjoy

I'm not sure if it's unrestricted. The seller didn't mention it.

He took me on the back for a couple miles and it was bloody quick.

Wow, lovely looking. Love the black frame with the blue!

How much did you pay?

I went from never riding a bike to my first sv. Don't worry about anything, enjoy!

I went from a 125, via DAS straight onto my unrestricted SV. The extra power is certainly noticable but not unmanagable. You will adapt to it quite easily. Just be aware that a V twin is a little different in bends and rounabouts than the 125 (or any other engine configuration) and you will be fine. The engine braking is quite severe in comparison to other bikes, again very noticable at first but once used to it quite easy to handle. The SV is my first big bike and I have found it to be very user freindly (it was recomended by just about every biker I know).

Your going to be pi**ed if you don't pass now.

When I did my test a guy who I was taking MOD 1 with me said he had bought a 2011 ER6-N and if he doesn't pass he'll be more than annoyed (as you would be) and turns out he doesn't know how to stop the front & rear wheel together with out a skid.

You now have to focus and pass otherwise your ^ bike will just be sat around collecting dust.

Word of advice if the owner kept it in mint condition, don't use a "Motorcycle Cover" get a shed or get a propper bike cover off Ebay for £100 if you can pay £2200 for the bike I'm sure £100 - £150 to protect her against the weather were about to expect is worth the money.
