Do they have slots for headsets? Would they be ideal to use for bike to bike radios??

Yes. Both have slots for 'headsets'.

I had them connected to my Autocom and they worked fine for Bike to Bike.

Tried skiing?.. No.

With the motorolas the best we had whilst on the bikes was 2-3 miles (about 5k) but they are claimed to be up to 10k (about 6miles). Maybe if your not travelling at speed you might get that sort of range.

The midlands are higher powered radios and so have a slighly better range.
