RS 250s, how much?

I just popped into a bike shop in Reading as I was passing, usually they have loads of jap imports, RVF400s, 500 strokers etc.

Anyway I started looking at an RS250 they had in, not bad nick, but a few scratches on the fairings.

The bloke told me it was sold, so I enquired how much for and he said £3k!

These seem to be rising in value. I always fancied one as a b road bike, but think they'll be too much by the time it sensibly fits into my master plan.

I have an RGV 250, and decent one's of these are starting to creep up in value!

I guess that because the manufacturers have abandoned 2 strokes generally then thats part of it.

Wish I had a cyrstal ball and a massive storage unit, would have been very rich if id kept some of the 2 and 4 wheel turds I owned that have rocketed in value lately.

there is a KR1S in Netherlands which has never done a mile or was last year.

I want an CR500 SM, that'd be a gem.

Also, an RG500 is top o' my list. Gorgeous.

a good but used RS250 is £3k plus now.
Two years ago same bike would have been £2k

The 400's even the unloved GSXR 71 an 73 models seem to have went potty in price

I'll keep to sub £1k SVs for B roads for now then

I got a 90 RGV in garage which is a runner, also a RS but that has engine out waiting funds to sort out square piston. Guess the lack of strokers on the market is messing with the prices.

I could not give my rs away about 8 year ago. Mint mk2 rossi rep with only 2.5k on clock and I had to px it against a gsxr for £1800. The actual same bike appeared in DC m/cycles in Huddersfield this summer still in tidy nick at £3695!
