Has anyone tried to extract the original sensor from the axle mounted speedo assembly and use that to read the magnets on the brake disc? I am trying at the moment to do this by slowly grinding away plastic.
I have noticed that the original driven tube has 8 magnetic portions which go past the sensor. This does not really tie up with the 4 magnets normally required. I thought I would post this in case anyone has tried this. I might avoid grinding too far if somebody knows where the tender bits are. Thx in advance |

I believe the number of magnets varies depending on year of manufacture. I'm sure someone will post the answer soon if you don't find it by searching. I managed to remove the sensor on my 2001 curvey but then went to plan B when fitting my CBR600F3 wheels - so with care it can be done.
