****RANT ALERT****
Why do all the thieving robbing ******** thinks its perfectly ok to drop letters through my door every morning increasing everything by 30/40/50% Ive just gone potty down the phone at the guy from Tesco pet insurance who think its perfectly acceptable to double my premium in 12 months when I havent claimed and my cats are young and low risk to them. It might only be an increase of £5 a month but in my house thats a LOT of cash. But its not just them, its everyone I pay money to, and I go out of my way to protect my credit rating (on the off chance that one day i may be in a position to buy my own home hahaha!!) and am never in arrears. Now I know im on benefits and to some of you that makes me a lazy scrounger who has no right to complain but im doing everything I can to get a job in education so I can use my brain and give something back, and whilst the government are pushing me to work (and believe me I DO want to) they couldnt make it more difficult for me to do so (reducing assistance with childcare fees, not allowing me to train further because it makes me unavailable to work and so on). So at the moment im working in a school with difficult, volatile children to get as much on my cv as possible and im £20 a week better off. I know im not alone in feeling this, and I know there are a lot who are worse off and I truly am thankful and grateful for what I receive for the kids but its just so damn frustrating ![]() ![]() ![]() However, I am happy for the RAC to up my fees cos they're constantly getting me out of the **** ![]() Anyway, rant over... I'll go to work and do something useful now even though I still have 'bird' flu ![]() |

what annoyed me was we were able to insure Jasper with more than for less than his renewal. So that is what we did.
Unfortunately he had to go back to the vets with a reoccurrence of a condition and on the claim form the vet said as such. Out went the claim as it was considered to be an existing condition, despite more than having been his insurers at the time. Grrhh so the only reason to renew is to cover an existing condition. Lesson learned there.

It's because they're money grabbing *******s, I don't like this auto renew at a higher price bull****, that really is underhand but otherwise they're there to make money and its fair game.its up to you to cut a deal. have you rang them about the price?
stuff like home and pet insurance areridiculously easy to haggle over as they're not a legal obligation, if they're not at a price you agree with don't buy them simples

I would rather take the risk on pet insurance and pay if needed - the premiums are just crazy! Save the money instead so you have it if needed and if you don't you've probably got enough after a few years for a deposit on that house you want!
However home contents/buildings cover is something I would never be without.

I believe buildings is a legal obligation but home contents isn't. Fact of the matter is most home insurance policies aren't far off a price that I feel represents the risk posed, so I do buy it.
In fact just had my renewal (which was cheaper than anywhere else),it'd gone up by 10%. rang them up they said that's because I got a new customer discount last year ,explained the obvious flaw in their logic and they knocked 20% off and gave me plumbing and fraud protection. Took 5 stress free minutes How much are rac charging you?

Building insurance is only obligatory if you have a mortgage

Sick to death of the lot of them.
I feel your rant KJ. Having just spent the last three months with Peg out of work, its been an absolute nightmare. Luckily I pushed the banks for the money they owed me from missold insurance policies, and if we hadn't have had that, we'd have gone under! That money was to be set aside to get rid of a lot of baggage and set us onto a new path. Now its all been eaten up by insurance, fuel bills of both house and car, and to keep us fed ![]() Thankfully now hes back in work, but we're back to square one. Him going down the dole office and signing on has been the worst experience ever for him, and we both hated having to do it. I swear its all a conspiracy to kick those that try their best in this life to stay down and know their place!

Interesting replies, thanks.
I did haggle with the guy and got a deal on the pet insurance but its still an increase of 15%! I darent not have it because if I got a bill for more than say £150 I couldnt pay it, so the peace of mind is good. It still seems crazy that I pay twice the amount for the cats than I do for my house contents insurance!! Its a crazy world and sometimes I wish I could just stop and get off for a while... |
